The historic town of El Quseir is founded in Pharaonic times as a starting point for many sailing toward the tip of the Sinai. Now there is nothing left of this commercial city than an Ottoman fortress surrounded by coral stone buildings with domes where tombs of saints and mainly pilgrims who died while en route to Mecca.
