Collossi of Memnon
40_Memnon_Kolossen.jpg The Colossi of Memnon (known to locals as el-Colossat, or es-Salamat) are two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. The original function of the Colossi was to stand guard at the entrance to Amenhotep's memorial temple (or mortuary temple): a massive cult centre built during the pharaoh's lifetime, where he was worshipped as a god-on-earth both before and after his departure from this world. In its day, this temple complex was the largest and most opulent in Egypt

Deir-el-Medina
madina3.jpg The site is located on the west bank of the Nile, across the river from modern-day Luxor. The village is laid out in a small natural amphitheatre. The first datable remains of the village belong to the reign of Thutmosis I (c. 1506–1493 BCE) with its final shape being formed during the Ramesside Period[14] At its peak the community contained around sixty-eight houses spread over at total area of 5,600 m2 with a narrow road running the length of the village
When you are in Deir-El-Medina (buy ickets a the central ticketoffice) not forget to visit the tombs of Sennedjem & Pashedu. deir-el-medina-tomb-1.jpg deir-el-medina-tomb-2.jpg

Tombs of Qurna
sennefer13.jpg The Ancient Egyptian noble Sennefer was "Mayor of the City" (i.e. Thebes) and "Overseer of the Granaries and Fields, Gardens and Cattle of Amun" during the reign of Amenhotep II of the 18th dynasty. Being a favourite of the king he accumulated great wealth. He was also allowed to place a double statue of himself and his wife in the temple at Karnak.[1] The famous garden plan, often described is Sennefer's Garden, is more likely to be of a garden which Sennefer managed, and perhaps designed, than to be of a garden which Sennefer owned. He was the son of Ahmose Humay, a male royal nurse, brother to Amenhotep II's vizier Amenemopet, and married to the royal nurse Sentnay. His elder daughter Muttuy apparently married Kenamun, who succeeded Sennefer as mayor of Thebes. His brother Amenemopet called Pairy was buried close by in TT29. He was buried in a small but well decorated tomb (TT96, sometimes known as the "Tomb of the Vineyards" due to its decoration), located in the Sheikh Abd el-Qurna district of the Theban Necropolis opposite Luxor in Egypt.

Medinet Habu
Medinet Haboe temple was built by Ramses III (around 1150 BC). If you enter the temple it look like a fortress. And on the gateway you will see many images of prisoners from many countries. Once inside you can see the temple but there are also other temples that have been included in the complex; Horemheb (about 1310 BC) and Hatsjepsoet and Toetmosis III (about 1450 BC.) made temples here. these temples are older then the big Temple. It is also a sanctuary for the women of God Amon from the 21st dynasty (1000 BC).

The temple itself is very well preserved. There are beautiful reliefs and stories in the first courtyard and you can see the window of appearances in which the soldiers received their gold from the king after a campaign. On the 2nd court, there are several parties shown. The columns behind hall is still beautiful in color and there are many gods depicted. Sadly on the 2nd Court, the Orisis statues are destroyed, this has been done by the Christians who made a church.
